The Reply-To field in an email header specifies an address to a which possible response will be sent. By default, a reply is sent to the FROM address, if the REPLYTO argument is not used.
Command syntax
- febootimail -FROM news@example.com -REPLYTO john@example.com
For example, a marketing department is sending out news to their listed customers, but all further questions and replies are served by a customer support department. In such situations it is reasonable to use the marketing department email as a FROM address and the support department email as a REPLYTO address.
febootimail -SMTP smtp.example.net -FROM news@example.net -TO clementine@example.com -REPLYTO john@example.com -TEXT An example mail sent using the Reply-To argument
Also, note that more than one address can be specified in the Reply-To field. In this case, depending on the email client software behavior, a reply may be sent to all emails contained in the Reply-To field.
