"Free memory status"

Overview

The Free memory value indicates the total memory Windows can allocate if a process requires more memory. This includes both the physical RAM of the machine and the swap/paging file. The paging file may expand when the Free memory drops below a certain threshold.

The Free physical memory value represents the amount of unused RAM. Occasionally, this value can exceed the Free memory if applications have reserved memory but are not fully utilizing the allocated amount (for example, when a third-party app is leaking memory).
