Proceed with other Actions only after the Start & Stop Service Action has completed and the desired service status change has been achieved. Also, define a timeout and its behavior when the timeout elapses.

Additionally, enable or disable this Action. Change the display name for this step to show custom text in the Actions list. Change logging preferences and fine-tune the Advanced Fallback settings.

OptionsDetails
Workflow behavior Select a waiting behavior from 2 available options:
  • Continue immediately · do not wait, and continue executing a workflow with the next Action.
  • Wait for service state change · wait while the selected maintenance activity is completed, and only then continue.
Enable waiting timeoutOptionally, to prevent an unintended workflow lockdown (in case the Start & Stop Service Action is waiting indefinitely), set the Do not wait longer than timeout value and choose a procedure to perform when On timeout is reached…
On timeoutChoose behavior if the Start & Stop Service Action times out:
  • Continue Task · proceed the workflow with the next Action.
  • Continue with · choose an Action to continue with.
  • Stop Task · end execution of the workflow.
  • Stop with error · terminate the workflow with an error. The On Error handler for Action will not be activated, while the On Error handler for Task will be triggered.
Time unitsTime units selectionDefine and set a time frame in any given preferred format—be it milliseconds, seconds, minutes, hours, or days.
Variable WizardVariable Wizard buttonUse dynamic data input—substitute a parameter from a file, web, connected Trigger, other Actions, date and time presets, etc.
This Action is enabledAn Action is executed only if it is enabled. Otherwise, it will be automatically skipped (completely ignored) from the Task flow.
Use custom display nameRename this Action, to make a human-readable workflow that will help you to find, read, and make sense of the Task structure later.
Advanced fallback optionsManage the advanced fallback options—select which error types will lead to automatic execution of predefined workaround operations.
Log only errorsDo not log information and warning messages for this Action. It may be useful to keep the log file small and tidy on production systems.
