Specify the title and message text for input dialog window. Optionally, a predefined or automatically generated default return text can be specified as well. All parameter inputs support dynamic Variable Wizard values which means that the configuration of Input Dialog Action can be based on the outcome of Trigger, preceding Action, file contents or system state.
Classic fixed values can be used when the Input Dialog title, text and default value do not depend on context and are always the same.
Dialog | Details |
---|---|
Title | Specify input dialog window title text displayed in title bar. |
Message to display | Enter the text to be displayed in input dialog window. |
Default value | Prefill the user input with value that will be provided as default user choice in dialog input window. |
Test this dialog | Press the Test button to display the Input Dialog window in its current configuration. Note that Variable Wizard values dependent on execution of preceding Trigger or Actions will be returned as empty in testing mode. |
Variable Wizard | Use dynamic data input—substitute a parameter from a file, web, connected Trigger, other Actions, date and time presets, etc. |
Interconnect
- Input Dialog integration and auditing—Variables (dynamic data) and Events (recorded activity). Access the user-provided input value, dialog button clicked, dialog title, and message texts. An event indicating the button clicked by the user, along with any failures, is automatically logged.
Note
- Always force placing new windows in the foreground (above all other windows). See simple instructions for a fix—New program window appears behind all other open windows.
