Automation Workshop includes the Comment Action which, while not performing any operations on its own, provides options for a user to put remarks directly within the Task or next to some Action which might require some description, explanation or reminders later. Moreover, Comment subject and text is retrievable using Variable Wizard from any other Action within the Task.
Maintaining automated Tasks in the long term gets easier by adding remarks to the complex parts of the Task. The subject and more importantly the description must be chosen wisely to describe intent of the Actions and Task itself. It should respond to the questions: What is the business purpose of the Action? What is the expected result? If an Action contains regular expressions, what do the expressions do? And so on.
As an alternative to short comments it is possible to use the custom name feature. It allows renaming an Action and putting a remark directly into workflow.
